Who Is John's "THE WORD"

In the Gospel of John, John begins talking about THE WORD.  If you read and think carefully you will find out that he is talking about Jehovah, the second member of the Godhead.  The Son. 

All throughout the Old Testament, Jehovah speaks to the prophets.  Jehovah is the First Born Son of God The Father.  There are three members of the Godhead.  The Father, The Son, The Holy Ghost.  Each are individual personages, not one person who can divide himself. 

The Father is a separate, Glorified personage with an Immortal, Physical body with spirit matter running through His veins. 

The Son, from the beginning and up to the time of the New Testament, was a Spirit Son of the father, known as Jehovah.  He was a member of the Godhead, and therefore a God also.  

The Holy Ghost is also a God, being the third member of the Godhead, but is a personage of Spirit.  

When John speaks of the WORD, he is talking about Jehovah.  Let's look at the Bible in the Gospel of John.

JOHN 1: 1-5, and 14

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

(Remember this, "Word" is in capital letters.  Substitute the Word for Jehovah.  In the beginning was Jehovah, and Jehovah was WITH God, and Jehovah WAS God, one of the Godhead)

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

(Under the direction of God the Father, Jehovah made all things.  Worlds without number.  He was given control to Execute the Father's Plan of Salvation for God The Father's children, to suffer for all our sins, ONLY if we would REPENT of our sins and keep His Commandments, so that we can make it back to Him.)

4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

In other words, He was the Life and Light of Men. Jehovah came down, was born of Mary, and became human. 

Being of the Father, He had the power to take up His life and body again.

Being of Mary, He was made mortal and was subject to death and able to accomplish the Atonement for all creations. 

He became JESUS CHRIST. 

Yes, Jehovah is Jesus Christ. 

He suffered in Gethsemane and on the Cross, for all our sins, so we can stand before Him, Jesus Christ, at Judgement, because the Father gave ALL POWER to execute the Plan to the Son. 

So, in our own immortal bodies, ALL OF US will stand before Him at Final Judgement.

Ancient Prophet See's America

The last prophet in the Book of Mormon, named Moroni, was shown a vision of the wickedness of the American Gentiles who are in this land. 

 

(This was about 401 A.D.)  

 

He was finishing up the record of his father, Mormon, who was killed in the battle of Cumorah, in Central America, and he was now the only one left with the records of his people. 

 

He kept going north so he would not be killed and ended up in the area which is now called New York, where he recorded more on the records and buried them. 

 

He was the Angel Moroni who instructed the Prophet Joseph Smith where he had buried the plates.  After that, this area was known as the Hill Comorah.

He said: 

MORMON 8:  35-36

35 Behold, I speak unto you as if ye were present, and yet ye are not.  But behold, Jesus Christ hath shown you unto me, and I know your doing. (He is talking to us in this day, in this country because that is where he was.)

36 And I know that ye do walk in the pride of your hearts; and there are none save a few only who do not lift themselves up in the pride of their hearts, unto the wearing of very fine apparel, unto envying, and strifes, and malice, and persecutions, and all manner of iniquities....

He could see the problems we would be having in keeping our freedoms and liberty, along with the rest of the world. 

The Prophet Ether said:

ETHER 8: 23-25

23 Wherefore, O ye Gentiles, it is wisdom in God that these things should be shown unto you, that thereby ye may repent of your sins, and suffer not that these murderous combinations shall get above you,  which are built up to get power and gain—and the work, yea, even the work of destruction come upon you, yea, even the sword of the justice of the Eternal God shall fall upon you, to your overthrow and destruction if ye shall suffer these things to be.

(Unfortunately, I feel we are a little late, and if you look at conditions today, you will know what I mean) 

24 Wherefore, the Lord commandeth you, when ye shall see these things come among you that ye shall awake to a sense of your awful situation, because of this secret combination which shall be among you; or wo be unto it..... 

25 For it cometh to pass that whoso buildeth it up seeketh to overthrow the freedom of all lands, nations, and countries; and it bringeth to pass the destruction of all people, for it is built up by the devil, who is the father of all lies; even that same liar who beguiled our first parents, yea, even that same liar who hath caused man to commit murder from the beginning; who hath hardened the hearts of men that they have murdered the prophets, and stoned them, and cast them out from the beginning.

The Prophet Nephi saw that the gentiles would be powerful in this nation.

1 NEPHI 13: 12-19

12 And I looked and beheld a man among the Gentiles, who was separated from the seed of my brethren by the many waters; and I beheld the Spirit of God, that it came down and wrought upon the man; and he went forth upon the many waters, even unto the seed of my brethren, who were in the promised land. (Columbus)

13 And it came to pass that I beheld the Spirit of God, that it wrought upon other Gentiles; and they went forth out of captivity, upon the many waters. (the Pilgrims) 

14 And it came to pass that I beheld many multitudes of the Gentiles upon the land of promise; and I beheld the wrath of God, that it was upon the seed of my brethren; and they were scattered before the Gentiles and were smitten.

(seed of Nephi's brethren were the Indians, known as the Lamanites in the Book of Mormon- descendants of his older brother, Laman).

 

15 And I beheld the Spirit of the Lord, that it was upon the Gentiles, and they did prosper and obtain the land for their inheritance; and I beheld that they were white, and exceedingly fair and beautiful, like unto my people before they were slain.

 

16 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, beheld that the Gentiles who had gone forth out of captivity did humble themselves before the Lord; and the power of the Lord was with them.

 

17 And I beheld that their mother Gentiles were gathered together upon the waters, and upon the land also, to battle against them. (Great Britain-Revolutionary War)

 

18 And I beheld that the power of God was with them, and also that the wrath of God was upon all those that were gathered together against them to battle. (God was with the Founding Fathers)

 

19 And I, Nephi, beheld that the Gentiles that had gone out of captivity were delivered by the power of God out of the hands of all other nations.

2 NEPHI 1: 5

5 But, said he, notwithstanding our afflictions, we have obtained a land of promise, a land which is choice above all other lands; a land which the Lord God hath covenanted with me should be a land for the inheritance of my seed. Yea, the Lord hath covenanted this land unto me, and to my children forever, and also all those who should be led out of other countries by the hand of the Lord.

The lord told all His prophets that the gentiles would not inherit the land unless they accepted the Restored Gospel when it came.

IT IS HERE NOW. 

HOPE THEY WILL ACCEPT IT, OTHERWISE, THEY WILL NOT INHERIT THIS LAND.

ACTS 3: 21

21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

Jesus Christ saw what is happening now, in our day in America and said:

3 NEPHI 16: 10

10 And thus commandeth the Father that I should say unto you:  At that day when the Gentiles shall sin against my gospel, and shall reject the fulness of my gospel, and shall be lifted up in the pride of their hearts above all nations, and above all the people of the whole earth, and shall be filled with all manner of lyings, and of deceits, and of mischiefs, and all manner of hypocrisy, and murders, and priestcrafts, and whoredoms, and of secret abominations; and if they shall do all those things, and shall reject the fulness of my gospel, behold, saith the Father, I will bring the fulness of my gospel from among them.

This meant that He would remove the gospel and the missionaries from among the Gentiles.

A Warning To All

Many people of the earth do not believe in God, or if they do, they do not believe he speaks today. 

 

I am here to tell you that He does.  He has always spoken to His children here on earth from the time of Adam even until now. 

 

He speaks today to a living prophet.  

 

He is NOT only the prophet to this church, BUT, the Lord says this prophet is to ALL THE WORLD. 

 

BUT WILL THE WORLD LISTEN? 

 

We of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints understand this, and WE ARE COMMANDED BY THE LORD TO TELL THE WORLD.

In 1820 a 14 year old boy was confused with the different religions that existed and did not know which to join.  

He thought there should not be so much confusion in doctrines. 

Truth is truth and all should have the same truth and there should not be any confliction between the doctrines of the churches. 

The Lord wants all His children back and would not try to confuse them or trick them. 

Joseph Smith read in:

JAMES 1: 5-6

5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
 

6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. 

When he read that passage he decided to try and ask God which church to join. 

He was confused. 

He was favoring the Methodist but he did not know for sure. 

In his own words he explained what he did.

JOSEPH SMITH HISTORY 1: 15-19

He was told to wait and that the fullness of His Gospel would be Restored, with His Church, to the earth, through him.

For 3 years he did not receive any more instructions. 

So, he decided to find out why.  Let him tell it in his own words.

JOSEPH SMITH HISTORY 1: 29-50

After 4 years of instruction, once a year by this messenger, he was allowed to take the plates and translate them by the gift and power of God. 

Remember, Joseph had only 3 years of schooling and no libraries were around him to educate him on writing and on a history about another people on this continent.

Once this record was translated and published he was commanded to organize the Lord's Church again upon the earth on 6 April 1830. 

From there on, he received Revelation from Jesus Christ on a regular basis, instructing him how to organized and conduct the affairs of His church here on the earth in the last days. 

He was told to organize these Revelations into a Book of Commandments and later the name was changed to the Doctrines and Covenants. 

The name was changed to show that the Book contained the DOCTRINES of the LORD and the COVENANTS He would make between HIM and His SAINTS in these LAST DAYS.

After giving the Prophet Joseph Smith a few revelations, the Lord gave him one specific revelation which he was commanded to put at the Head of all the revelations as His Preface to His Book of Doctrines and Covenants.

This Revelation known as Section 1 is what this WARNING TO EVERYONE IN THE WORLD.  

This is a MUST READ TO ALL.

DOCTRINE and COVENANTS 1: 1-39

Read carefully and slowly.  This is to all the world from the Lord Jesus Christ.  

ALL will be held accountable at the Day of Judgement for what choices they made with the information and opportunities they were given.

What Is The Book Of Mormon And Who Is This "Mormon"

In the title page of The Book of Mormon are two paragraphs written by Mormon himself over 1400 years ago.

He explains in his own words what the book is.  This will follow later.

I will now tell you who Mormon was.

Mormon was a prophet historian who condensed a thousand years of historical records kept by his ancestors of which he was in possession of.  

Because of what he did, to honor him, Not Worship him, the book was named after him, The Book of Mormon.

As he was directed by the Spirit, he took the records that the Lord preserved, and by inspiration, he compiled the records needed, which would comprise the Book of Mormon, as it is known today.  

The FULLNESS of the GOSPEL is NOW HERE.

This church is called The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and this was the name the Lord Himself called it.

DOCTRINE and COVENANTS 115: 3-4

3 And also unto my faithful servants who are of the high council of my church in Zion, for thus it shall be called, and unto all the elders and people of my Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, scattered abroad in all the world;

4 For thus shall my church be called in the last days, even The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The Doctrine and Covenants is a book of Modern Revelations from the Lord to His Prophets Today, directing how His church would be established and operated.

The common doctrine of other churches say that the Lord does not talk to man any more, that it is all in the Bible and there will not be any more scriptures or bibles or revelation, but it is not so.

The Lord loves His children just as much as He did anciently and still talks to them.  This is because He is an unchangeable God.

HE DOES SPEAK TO HIS CHILDREN TODAY.

It is not a new church or a reformed church but the RESTORED church as it was ORIGINALLY in the days of the Savior’s ministry. The Last part of the name is Latter Day Saints to distinguish it from the Former Day Saints of His time.  This is what Members of His Church were called in those days.

In the Lord’s planning, this book would contain the Fullness of the Gospel, including the many plain and precious parts that were lost in the translation and re-translation of the Bible over the years.

The Book of Mormon does not replace the Bible, but it is “Another Testament of Jesus Christ” and is so noted on the cover, as has been directed by the Lord to His church to label it.

The Book of Mormon goes hand in hand with the Bible and to be together as ONE in the Last Days, as stated by Ezekiel:

Ezekiel 37: 16-20

16  Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick and write upon it, For Judah, (The Bible) and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, (The Book of Mormon) and for all the house of Israel his companions: 

17  And join them one to another into one stick; and they will become one in thine hand.

18  And when the children of thy people shall speak unto thee, saying, Wilt thou not shew us what meanest by these?

19  Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand.

20  And the sticks whereon thou writest shall be in thine hand before their eyes.

 

The Bible was written by Judah in Israel and in those days they were written on scrolls and they were called sticks.

The Book of Mormon was compiled and engraved on gold plates by his ancestors who left Jerusalem about 600 BC, being descendants of the tribe of Joseph.

The history of these people was recorded on plates because the Lord knew they had to last for a long time to come forth in the Last Days, otherwise the scrolls would disintegrate.

As mentioned above by Ezekiel, in the last days these two records would be together, one in thine hand.

Today they are, and they are going forth all over the earth.

We do not worship Mormon but honor him and his son, Moroni, who he gave these condensed plates to.

Moroni eventually buried them in upper state New York in the hill Cumorah in Palmyra.

When the time came for the Restoring of His Church, a young boy of 14, who was chosen at the same time all the other prophets of long ago were chosen, in the pre-existence, came forth at the appointed time to restore the church.

He was directed by the Prophet Moroni, who originally buried the plates, to the place the plates were buried.

By the gift and power of God, and use of the Urim and Thummin that were placed in the stone box with the plates.  These were used Anciently.

He was given the ability to translate it, even though he had only three years of formal schooling.

The Urim and Thummin are recorded in the Bible. Abraham had one set.
There were only two sets that we know of in existence in the scriptures.

During the Prophet Joseph Smith’s translation he came across an explanation of what the Book of Mormon is, written by the hand of Mormon.

Joseph put this in the front of the book as quoted below.

Quote:

Wherefore, it is an abridgment of the record of the people of Nephi, and also of the Lamanites—Written to the Lamanites, who are a remnant of the house of Israel; and also to Jew and Gentile—Written by way of commandment, and also by the spirit of prophecy and of revelation—Written and sealed up, and hid up unto the Lord, that they might not be destroyed—To come forth by the gift and power of God unto the interpretation thereof—Sealed by the hand of Moroni, and hid up unto the Lord, to come forth in due time by way of the Gentile—The interpretation thereof by the gift of God.

An abridgment taken from the Book of Ether also, which is a record of the people of Jared, who were scattered at the time the Lord confounded the language of the people, when they were building a tower to get to heaven—Which is to show unto the remnant of the House of Israel what great things the Lord hath done for their fathers; and that they may know the covenants of the Lord, that they are not cast off forever—And also to the convincing of the Jew and Gentile that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God, manifesting himself unto all nations—And now, if there are faults they are the mistakes of men; wherefore, condemn not the things of God, that ye may be found spotless at the judgment-seat of Christ.

End of Quote.

The Book of Ether, which were on 24 Gold Plates, which were from the scattering at the time of the Tower of Babel, were included in the Book of Mormon.

This is what Paul said about the Restoration or Restitution of all things:

ACTS 3: 19-21

19  Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

20  And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:

21  Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

This is the times of the restitution.
