Sign #10 - Troubles And Opposition To The Book of Mormon

It may be surprising to the Enemies of the truth and to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and to the Book of Mormon, but their opposition and their attitude to having more scriptures in these current times, was all predicted by the Lord. 

It is one of the Signs of the Times spoken of by one of the Lord's Prophets, the Prophet Nephi who originally came from Jerusalem with his father Lehi and his family. 

The Prophet Nephi took over making the records of their leaving Jerusalem about 600 B.C. and told the experiences they went through to come to the Americas. 

In his record he recorded how the people would feel when these records were brought forth in the Last Days, in the Dispensation of the Fullness of Times by another Prophet raised up in these days.   

Because people have been taught from the time of Christ's ministry. by the misisters of religion that the Lord has done His work, and gave us a bible and it had everything in it, and that the Lord does not speak to people in these days and there are no such things of miricles anymore, people could not accept more scriptures even to this day.

The Book of Mormon was not made for the people in the Prophet Nephi's time, though he and other prophets, from 600 B.C. to 421 A.D. preached to their people, the record was for US TODAY. 

While preaching and recording what the Lord told the Prophet Nephi to say, he recorded, especially for the benifit of the first prophet chosen to bring the record forth in OUR DAY, namely The Prophet Joseph Smith, he recorded that there would be opposition to the Added Scriptures.  Here is what he said in the record, the Book of Mormon, so the Prophet Joseph Smith and others could know how it would be received.

2 NEPHI 29   the whole chapter.     This was about 559 to 545 B.C. 

1 But behold, there shall be many—at that day when I shall proceed to do a marvelous work among them, that I may remember my covenants which I have made unto the children of men, that I may set my hand again the second time to recover my people, which are of the house of Israel;

(When a Prophet Speaks, he speaks In The Name of the Lord as if it is the Lord's voric, example above I Shall or I May.)

 

2 And also, that I may remember the promises which I have made unto thee, Nephi, and also unto thy father, that I would remember your seed; and that the words of your seed should proceed forth out of my mouth unto your seed; and my words shall hiss forth unto the ends of the earth, for a standard unto my people, which are of the house of Israel;

 

3 And because my words shall hiss forth—many of the Gentiles shall say: A Bible! A Bible! We have got a Bible, and there cannot be any more Bible.

 

(If you are not a Jew or of Israel, you are a Gentile)

 

4 But thus saith the Lord God: O fools, they shall have a Bible; and it shall proceed forth from the Jews, mine ancient covenant people. And what thank they the Jews for the Bible which they receive from them? Yea, what do the Gentiles mean? Do they remember the travails, and the labors, and the pains of the Jews, and their diligence unto me, in bringing forth salvation unto the Gentiles?

 

5 O ye Gentiles, have ye remembered the Jews, mine ancient covenant people? Nay; but ye have cursed them, and have hated them, and have not sought to recover them. But behold, I will return all these things upon your own heads; for I the Lord have not forgotten my people.

 

6 Thou fool, that shall say: A Bible, we have got a Bible, and we need no more Bible. Have ye obtained a Bible save it were by the Jews?

 

7 Know ye not that there are more nations than one? Know ye not that I, the Lord your God, have created all men, and that I remember those who are upon the isles of the sea; and that I rule in the heavens above and in the earth beneath; and I bring forth my word unto the children of men, yea, even upon all the nations of the earth?

 

8 Wherefore murmur ye, because that ye shall receive more of my word? Know ye not that the testimony of two nations is a witness unto you that I am God, that I remember one nation like unto another? Wherefore, I speak the same words unto one nation like unto another. And when the two nations shall run together the testimony of the two nations shall run together also.

 

9 And I do this that I may prove unto many that I am the same yesterday, today, and forever; and that I speak forth my words according to mine own pleasure. And because that I have spoken one word ye need not suppose that I cannot speak another; for my work is not yet finished; neither shall it be until the end of man, neither from that time henceforth and forever.

 

10 Wherefore, because that ye have a Bible ye need not suppose that it contains all my words; neither need ye suppose that I have not caused more to be written.

 

11 For I command all men, both in the east and in the west, and in the north, and in the south, and in the islands of the sea, that they shall write the words which I speak unto them; for out of the books which shall be written I will judge the world, every man according to their works, according to that which is written.

 

12 For behold, I shall speak unto the Jews and they shall write it; and I shall also speak unto the Nephites and they shall write it; and I shall also speak unto the other tribes of the house of Israel, which I have led away, and they shall write it; and I shall also speak unto all nations of the earth and they shall write it.

 

13 And it shall come to pass that the Jews shall have the words of the Nephites, (the Book of Mormon or Stick of Joseph) and the Nephites shall have the words of the Jews; (The Bible) and the Nephites and the Jews shall have the words of the lost tribes of Israel; and the lost tribes of Israel shall have the words of the Nephites and the Jews.

 

14 And it shall come to pass that my people, which are of the house of Israel, shall be gathered home unto the lands of their possessions; and my word also shall be gathered in one. And I will show unto them that fight against my word and against my people, who are of the house of Israel, that I am God, and that I covenanted with Abraham that I would remember his seed forever.

Ezekiel talked about the Bible and  Book of Mormon coming together to Witness TOGETHER that Jesus is the Christ.

EZEKIEL 37:16-20

16 Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions:

17 And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand.

 

18 And when the children of thy people shall speak unto thee, saying, Wilt thou not shew us what thou meanest by these?

 

19 Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand.

20 And the sticks whereon thou writest shall be in thine hand before their eyes.

The book of Ezekiel in the Old Testament also speaks of the Stick of Judah (the Bible) and the Stick of Ephraim or Joseph (The Book of Mormon) and how they would come together as ONE in the Last Days. 

This Prophesy HAS ALREADY HAPPENED.

Sign #6 - The Printing of the Bible

Knowing the future, the Lord wanted the people, not just the clergy, to have access to the Bible.

These were called the Dark Ages of the world.

The clergy were in control of the preaching and explaining of what the bible meant. They could say what they wanted the people to know, which may have been different that what the bible actually said.

This way the people were kept in bondage by the civil and church authorities.

The first English translation by John Wycliffe in 1380 was prepared from the Latin Vulgate but this was by hand.

Gutenberg first printed the Bible in Latin in 1456, the first time it was not hand written.

In 1611 the K.J.V. or King James Version was printed in English from the original Hebrew and Greek.

This was a mighty force in opening the door to progression and advancement in all fields.

This was all progressing towards the Establishment of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Last Days, and allowing the Bible and the Book of Mormon to be printed and sent out to the world.

Sign #4 - Discovery and Colonization of America

The Lord said: Talking to the brother of Jared at the time of the Tower of Babel, and told him that He was going to lead them to a land of promise.

ETHER 2: 7-12

7 And the Lord would not suffer that they should stop beyond the sea in the wilderness, but he would that they should come forth even unto the land of promise, which was choice above all other lands, which the Lord God had preserved for a righteous people.

8 And he had sworn in his wrath unto the brother of Jared, that whoso should possess this land of promise, from that time henceforth and forever, should serve him, the true and only God, or they should be swept off when the fulness of his wrath should come upon them.

9 And now, we can behold the decrees of God concerning this land, that it is a land of promise; and whatsoever nation shall possess it shall serve God, or they shall be swept off when the fulness of his wrath shall come upon them. And the fulness of his wrath cometh upon them when they are ripened in iniquity.

10 For behold, this is a land which is choice above all other lands; wherefore he that doth possess it shall serve God or shall be swept off; for it is the everlasting decree of God. And it is not until the fulness of iniquity among the children of the land, that they are swept off.

11 And this cometh unto you, O ye Gentiles, (He is talking to us here, in the Latter Days) that ye may know the decrees of God—that ye may repent, and not continue in your iniquities until the fulness come, that ye may not bring down the fulness of the wrath of God upon you as the inhabitants of the land have hitherto done.

12 Behold, this is a choice land, and whatsoever nation shall possess it shall be free from bondage, and from captivity, and from all other nations under heaven, if they will but serve the God of the land, who is Jesus Christ, who hath been manifested by the things which we have written.

There have been two nations that have been on this continent.  One was the Jaradites, those who came from the Tower of Babel, who have been swept off because they became wicked, but we have their record, recorded in the Book of Mormon from the 24 gold plates, which is the chapter called ETHER, named after the Prophet Ether who lived in that day.

The second nation were the descendants of Lehi, who became the Nephites and the Lamanites.  Lehi was a contemporary Prophet, along with Jeremiah and others, telling the people in Jerusalem to repent.  They tried to kill those prophets, but Lehi was warned in a dream to take his family and leave Jerusalem and he would be lead to another land. 

They came to the Americas, landing on the Pacific side of Central America.  They became two individual nations, one following Nephi, and the other followed Laman, two of Lehi's sons. 

The Nephites were righteous at first then by the end of the 1000 years they had become wicked, and the Lamanites who were wicked at first, became more righteous then the Nephites.  

Only a couple of Nephites, Mormon, and his son Moroni, both Prophets were the only righteous ones left after the final wars of destruction.  They were the ones who kept the records that were recorded since Lehi left Jerusalem.  Mormon ended up dying and Moroni had to keep moving because the Lamanites were trying to kill any Nephite they could find.  Moroni ended up in upper part of America, which is now known as New York,  and burried the places.  

When the Lord knew it was time, he had the Resurrected Prophet Moroni direct the Prophet Joseph Smith to the location of the plates and instructed Joseph for three years on what his mission was for the Last Days.  

Mormon consolidated all the records into the essentials we, in these Last Days, needed and when we received the record, it was named after Mormon, The Book of Mormon, to honor him in what he did. 

We DO NOT worship him.  The record was NOT made for them in their day, but the Lord told the Prophets that it was for US in the last days, to give us the full gospel.

According to the Lord, it contained the FULLNESS OF HIS GOSPEL.

Because of this change to wickedness, the Lord had the Nephites swept off the land and the remaining Lamanites became the western Indian tribes that were here when America was Re-discovered by Columbus. 

Since there were people already here, it had already been discovered and that is why Columbus Re-Discovered it.  The Gentiles who came here later on, killed many of the Indians and drove them further west and ended up being put on reservations. 

Unknown to most, these Indians are from Jerusalem.  They came about 600 B.C. to this land.  This means they are part of Israel and the Book of Mormon is their record from their ancestors who first came here.

He saw that the Devil formed the Great and Abominable Church among the Gentiles. This church was formed before the Gentiles came to the new world.

It's purpose was to fight against the Restoration of the Gospel when it was established in 1830.

He saw the Spirit of Christ came down upon a man among the Gentiles (Columbus) and led him to discover America.

Then the Prophet Nephi saw the Spirit " that it wrought upon other Gentiles and they went forth out of captivity upon the many waters" and once they were established in America, Nephi saw the Revolutionary War and that the colonizers had to fight against the Mother Country (England) to keep their freedom.

He saw that they brought a book with them (the Bible).

He also saw that this Great and Abominable Church changed and eliminated many Plain and Precious things that were in it. Those things that were taken out would later be put back in by the Restoration of the Gospel in 1830.

Sign #2 - The Discovery of Printing

The religious Reformation was arriving, preparing the people and nations to break away from religious domination.

Movable type was discovered in 1440 A.D. allowing people to learn more.

One of the first books to be published in 1456 A.D. was the Gutenberg Bible,

which opened up the scriptures to the common people and not be controlled by the clergy only. The clergy gave fierce opposition and persecution to those who were printing the bible and getting it out to the people.

Thomas Paines "Rights of Man" was a major factor in the Revolutionary War and united the colonists in their struggle for independence and freedom.

But the establishment of the Constitution in 1789 opened the real freedom of the press to America when they included the Bill of Rights.

THE BILL OF RIGHTS

Amendment 1

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

The printing press opened the way for the printing and distributing of the Restored Gospel through the Book of Mormon and the words of Living Prophets today.

How to read the Signs of the Times

These are the SIGNS OF THE TIMES for ALL PEOPLE of the WORLD, Not just Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

To some, they would say to themselves, "this is mostly religious, not actually physical events". 

I tell you, God is in control of everything.  He created the world, and everything in it, and we are His children, here to be TESTED.  He wants us to Learn, and prepare to meet Him AGAIN.  All these Events or Prophesies are here to Prepare us for what is coming.  Don't MINIMIZE any of these Signs.

You may not think it pertains to you, BUT IT DOES, and as they START HAPPENING, at a certain point you will REALIZE IT DOES PERTAIN TO ALL PEOPLE.

Signs are given by the LORD so that you will KNOW and PREPARE AHEAD OF TIME what is coming, so YOU will NOT BECOME ONE OF THE STATISTICS.

This blog has Two Tables of Contents, as you can see above starting with the words SIGNS, that have to do with what is coming on the earth.

Under Signs Of The Second Coming Of Christ you will get a List of EVENTS, some are similar to the signs of the times but designate 21 Major Events

Some of these Signs and Events are still coming, others are here and in progress and others soon to be starting.

Some of the topics from both sites correlate with each other in some way, some are on their own but all point to an event that will effect the whole world and every single person in it, the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. It even effects those who have lived and died before us, even back to Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve were real people, contrary to popular belief today.

To understand what is coming, you need to read both, SIGNS columns at the head of this blog and do your own research, and prepare as the Spirit directs.

The Signs are designated individually below. 

It might even be helpful to make a list of these signs and check them off as they happen, so as to know where we stand.

Much will be taken out of the Scriptures and other information from the Living Prophets.

Remember, the Lord had given in different ages of the world, signs and warnings to those who are spiritual in mind so they can be prepared for what is coming on them. While talking to the Sadducees and Pharisees the Jesus said:

MATTHEW 16: 3

3 And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring, O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?

They were blinded of spiritual things and were caught up in the physical things around them.

Since the Restoration of the Lord's church, He has told His priesthood in the Doctrine and Covenants (which is modern revelation through today's Living Prophets) as they preached the Restored Gospel throughout the earth:

DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS 68: 11

11 And unto you it shall be given to know the signs of the times, and the signs of the coming of the Son of Man;

And we do know them and I will be giving them to you in these two (2) Tables of Contents. Some may not come in this order and some will and some will come together.

Sign #9 - The Coming Forth of the Book of Mormon or the Stick of Joseph

To those of you who are NOT members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, this may come as a shock or surprise to you and you may say to yourself, "Yeah, Right".

But, what I am about to tell you is TRUE. By getting a copy of this book and going by what I tell you, with an open mind and heart, it will change your life for the better in this world and in the Eternities to come.

In the Book of Mormon, the Prophet Moroni recorded in the last book named after him and in his last chapter he says to ALL before sealing up the records and burying them to come forth IN THIS DAY:

MORONI 10: 2-5

2 And I seal up these records, after I have spoken a few words by way of exhortation unto you.

3 Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts.

4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.

5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.

If you will do what it says above FIRST, before reading it, PRAY TO YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER in THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST, having an open heart and mind, really wanting to know and having Faith in Christ to tell you the Truth by the POWER OF THE HOLY GHOST or Spirit, and then BEGIN reading the book, the HOLY GHOST will TESTIFY TO YOU THAT IT IS TRUE.

PRAYER IS A MUST!

You will, while reading it, feel a warm feeling in your chest and heart as He testifies to you. When you finish it, you WILL KNOW of the truthfulness of the Record.

Here is what the Prophet Ezekiel said in the Bible about the book that would come forth in OUR DAY.

EZEKIEL 37: 16, and 19

16 Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions:

 
19 Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand.

They use to write on Sticks or Scrolls and also Metal Plates. FOR JUDAH meaning the record known now as the Bible. For JOSEPH or EPHRAIM meaning the Book of Mormon, and He, The Lord will, in the Last Days, make them ONE STICK IN MY HAND.

This scripture is NOW FULFILLED IN THESE LAST DAYS.

The Bible IS the Stick of Judah and the Book of Mormon IS the Stick of Joseph or Ephraim and IN THIS CHURCH you will find them TOGETHER IN ONE VOLUME OF SCRIPTURE, fulfilled - ONE IN THINE HAND.

The Book of Mormon (Stick of Joseph or Ephraim) DOES NOT REPLACE THE BIBLE. It is a SECOND WITNESS that JESUS IS THE CHRIST.

We also have Revelations received in our day since 1820 up until today in the Volume. These are known as the Doctrine and Covenants. There are also other scriptures included.

GOD DOES SPEAK TO US TODAY and GUIDES US IN PATHS OF SAFETY and KNOWLEDGE.

God does know the end from the beginning and that is why he had those descendant from Joseph of Egypt, by Joseph's sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, Leave Jerusalem in 600 B.C. and come to the Americas and begin a new civilization and Keep a Record with approximate dates over a 1000 year period, and to be buried until these Last Days to come forth with the FULLNESS of the GOSPEL of JESUS CHRIST.

He knew that many plain and precious parts of the Gospel would be eliminated by accident or evil designs of conspiring men over time from the Bible and being translated and Re-translated, and had this record made to come forth in this day to RESTORE the FULLNESS of His GOSPEL.

That is why we call this Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints a RESTORED Church and RESTORED Gospel.

Nothing has been Reformed or Changed. Some may think it has been changed, but it is only because they did not know that NEW information that is now revealed, which is NEW to them. The Gospel has been RESTORED the way it was in the beginning.

And, as the Prophets of Old have said, that in these Last Days, the Dispensation of the Fullness of Times, things that have NEVER BEEN REVEALED in older times, WILL BE REVEALED IN THIS DISPENSATION to the World.

Sign #8 - Latter Day Revelation From God in These Last Days

This is the most dramatic event that can and did happen to man in these last days. 

It makes people wonder and many confused about receiving revelations from God to us today, here and now. 

Most religions say that God has done his work in former times and leaves us on our own.  They say there are no more revelations from God.  No More Miricles. 

He gave us the Bible and we are on our own.  All our answers are there.  We don't need any more Bibles.

Don't listen to them.  He has spoken to all the earlier prophets and gave them guidance for their times and what would come in the Last Days, and so He does now.

No other sign should be given such important consideration than having the Heavens open us and guidance to man in this day. 

We are His children, think about it. 

If you were God and your sons and daughters were on the earth, coming here at different times to be tested, would you talk and guide some in Adams time, Enoch's time, Abraham's time, Moses time and at the time of His Son's ministry and then leave the rest of us, in these perilous times to fend for ourselves. 

NO!

We all have a purpose, a mission to perform and to get things ready for His Son's Second Coming.  We NEED the guidance and the direction from Him to accomplish that which He sent us to do.

He has given us Prophets.  Look through the scriptures like the Bible.  You will see he only gives Revelations to His Prophets.  Consider this:

AMOS 3:7

 7 Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.  (In modern Revelation the Lord clarified the word BUT through his latter day Prophet Joseph Smith and told him to change it to UNTIL.  Does that not explain the verse and make it more clear?)

When the Lord is going to do something, He tells His Prophet on Earth so he will know and tell His servants, the Saints of His church so they can prepare and be aware and ready for what is coming. 

He has told us for over 100 years to have a Year's Supply of Food, and other emergency essentials.  We MUST prepare.  This could be because of earthquakes, hurricanes, loosing a job or the destruction's of the Last Days. 

We do not know, but must obey.

God The Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, appeared in person, together, to choose the First Prophet of this Dispensation to begin the work of the Last Days in preparation of His Son's Return.  And another reason for the appearance was to show, on record, and for His Prophet to know, that they are TWO SEPARATE BEINGS.  God the Father and Jesus Christ, His son. 

He clarified this then, at that moment, that the Father and the Son are ONE, not in Physical, Immortal body, but ONE in knowledge, agreement and in all things, but still separate personages and Immortal beings.

When these events happened, these were REVELATIONS IN and OF THEMSELVES. 

It shakes up the world in their limited knowledge that they still think that they are ALL IN ONE, EVERYWHERE AND NOWHERE. 

All of the Godhead, The Father, The Son, The Holy Ghost are INDIVIDUAL, INDEPENDENT BEINGS.  The Father has an Immortal body, So does the Son, but the Holy Ghost does NOT, because He is a personage of Spirit, but is everywhere and He Testifies of the Father and the Son.

The Holy Ghost can testify of Them and the truth of all things, but WILL NOT STAY WITH THE PERSON unless they are Baptized and are given, by confirmation, The Gift of the Holy Ghost, becoming members of His Latter Day Kingdom that has been established with PROPHETS, APOSTLES as the foundation of His church, with He, Himself, Jesus Christ, being the Chief Cornerstone.

The Gift of the Holy Ghost means, if you remain righteous, the Holy Ghost will be with you AT ALL TIMES and Guide and Warn you in all things. 

But your FREE AGENCY or FREE WILL allows you to disreguard His Guidance if you choose.

If you do, He leaves you.  He will return IF you REPENT and correct your sins and if need be, to the proper authorities in His Church. 

You will know IF He returns because of the Peace you will feel inside.

EPHESIANS 2: 19-20

19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

 

20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone.

You need Personal Revelation from Him for your guidence today.  All sons and daughters can receive Personal Revelation for themselves. 

Men, as head of their household can receive revelation for their families, Single women with their children can also, but for ordnances to be performed, they need to go to a Priesthood Leader.  Bishops receive guidance for their wards and so forth.

Revelation and Guidance for the whole church only comes from the Prophet, the Senior Apostle.

Sign #7 - The Making of the Constitution of the United States of America

The Constitution of the United States of America was not just organized for the United States.  The God of Heaven inspired wise men to make it for the Freedom of ALL MANKIND. 

All the men and women of the Earth are His sons and daughters.  ALL of us have been sent here for this TEST, because we were created in His image and we ALL have been given FREE AGENCY to Choose For Ourselves between Right and Wrong. 

That is what we are being tested on, of our own Free Will.  We are also being tested on how we, as spirit beings put in a physical body of flesh and bone, treat our bodies in the right way.  WE, the spirit within this body must learn to overcome the body, and make it do what we want, to control it.

Now, back to the Constitution. 

The Lord's Plan of Free Agency and Freedom belongs to ALL MANKIND.  We inherited Agency and Freedom as RIGHTS, and The Lord established the United States to be the EXAMPLE to all Nations on this earth.  The Lord told us in our day by revelation to the Prophet Joseph Smith, on 6 August 1833 this:

DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS 98: 4 - 10.

4 And now, verily I say unto you concerning the laws of the land, it is my will that my people should observe to do all things whatsoever I command them.

 

5 And that law of the land which is constitutional, supporting that principle of freedom in maintaining rights and privileges, belongs to all mankind, and is justifiable before me.

 

6 Therefore, I, the Lord, justify you, and your brethren of my church, in befriending that law which is the constitutional law of the land;

 

7 And as pertaining to law of man, whatsoever is more or less than this, cometh of evil.

 

8 I, the Lord God, make you free, therefore ye are free indeed; and the law also maketh you free.

 

9 Nevertheless, when the wicked rule the people mourn.

 

10 Wherefore, honest men and wise men should be sought for diligently, and good men and wise men ye should observe to uphold; otherwise whatsoever is less than these cometh of evil.

 

He also gave the Prophet Joseph Smith on 17 August 1835 this Revelation concerning Governments. 

 

This Revelation is a Big one.  Read carefully and understand it. 

 

The Lord told us that the Prophets of this church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints ARE NOT ONLY PROPHETS OF THIS CHURCH BUT ARE PLACED HERE FOR THE WHOLE WORLD, IF THEY WILL LISTEN.

 

DOCTRINE and COVENANTS 134.

1 We believe that governments were instituted of God for the benefit of man; and that he holds men accountable for their acts in relation to them, both in making laws and administering them, for the good and safety of society. 

2 We believe that no government can exist in peace, except such laws are framed and held inviolate as will secure to each individual the free exercise of conscience, the right and control of property, and the protection of life. 

3 We believe that all governments necessarily require civil officers and magistrates to enforce the laws of the same; and that such as will administer the law in equity and justice should be sought for and upheld by the voice of the people if a republic, or the will of the sovereign. 

4 We believe that religion is instituted of God; and that men are amenable to him, and to him only, for the exercise of it, unless their religious opinions prompt them to infringe upon the rights and liberties of others; but we do not believe that human law has a right to interfere in prescribing rules of worship to bind the consciences of men, nor dictate forms for public or private devotion; that the civil magistrate should restrain crime, but never control conscience; should punish guilt, but never suppress the freedom of the soul. 

5 We believe that all men are bound to sustain and uphold the respective governments in which they reside, while protected in their inherent and inalienable rights by the laws of such governments; and that sedition and rebellion are unbecoming every citizen thus protected, and should be punished accordingly; and that all governments have a right to enact such laws as in their own judgments are best calculated to secure the public interest; at the same time, however, holding sacred the freedom of conscience. 

6 We believe that every man should be honored in his station, rulers and magistrates as such, being placed for the protection of the innocent and the punishment of the guilty; and that to the laws all men owe respect and deference, as without them peace and harmony would be supplanted by anarchy and terror; human laws being instituted for the express purpose of regulating our interests as individuals and nations, between man and man; and divine laws given of heaven, prescribing rules on spiritual concerns, for faith and worship, both to be answered by man to his Maker. 

7 We believe that rulers, states, and governments have a right, and are bound to enact laws for the protection of all citizens in the free exercise of their religious belief; but we do not believe that they have a right in justice to deprive citizens of this privilege, or proscribe them in their opinions, so long as a regard and reverence are shown to the laws and such religious opinions do not justify sedition nor conspiracy. 

8 We believe that the commission of crime should be punished according to the nature of the offense; that murder, treason, robbery, theft, and the breach of the general peace, in all respects, should be punished according to their criminality and their tendency to evil among men, by the laws of that government in which the offense is committed; and for the public peace and tranquility all men should step forward and use their ability in bringing offenders against good laws to punishment. 

9 We do not believe it just to mingle religious influence with civil government, whereby one religious society is fostered and another proscribed in its spiritual privileges, and the individual rights of its members, as citizens, denied. 

10 We believe that all religious societies have a right to deal with their members for disorderly conduct, according to the rules and regulations of such societies; provided that such dealings be for fellowship and good standing; but we do not believe that any religious society has authority to try men on the right of property or life, to take from them this world’s goods, or to put them in jeopardy of either life or limb, or to inflict any physical punishment upon them. They can only excommunicate them from their society, and withdraw from them their fellowship. 

11 We believe that men should appeal to the civil law for redress of all wrongs and grievances, where personal abuse is inflicted or the right of property or character infringed, where such laws exist as will protect the same; but we believe that all men are justified in defending themselves, their friends, and property, and the government, from the unlawful assaults and encroachments of all persons in times of exigency, where immediate appeal cannot be made to the laws, and relief afforded. 

12 We believe it just to preach the gospel to the nations of the earth, and warn the righteous to save themselves from the corruption of the world; but we do not believe it right to interfere with bond-servants, neither preach the gospel to, nor baptize them contrary to the will and wish of their masters, nor to meddle with or influence them in the least to cause them to be dissatisfied with their situations in this life, thereby jeopardizing the lives of men; such interference we believe to be unlawful and unjust, and dangerous to the peace of every government allowing human beings to be held in servitude. 

FREE AGENCY under the Law is of God;  Coercion and Anarchy are of Lucifer, Satan or the Devil. 

The Constitution is the Supreme Law of the Land and it was made to protect ALL MEN and WOMEN in their Natural and Inalienable Rights.  

So on 16 December 1833 the Lord gave the Prophet Joseph Smith this revelation so we could understand what the Lord had done for ALL OF US: 

DOCTRINE and COVENANTS 101: 76-80
 

76 And again I say unto you, those who have been scattered by their enemies, it is my will that they should continue to importune for redress, and redemption, by the hands of those who are placed as rulers and are in authority over you— 

77 According to the laws and constitution of the people, which I have suffered to be established, and should be maintained for the rights and protection of all flesh, according to just and holy principles;

78 That every man may act in doctrine and principle pertaining to futurity, according to the moral agency which I have given unto him, that every man may be accountable for his own sins in the day of judgment. 

79 Therefore, it is not right that any man should be in bondage one to another.

80 And for this purpose have I established the Constitution of this land, by the hands of wise men whom I raised up unto this very purpose, and redeemed the land by the shedding of blood. 

This land was designed as a REPUBLIC, not as a Democracy. 

As it says in verse 80, this nation was redeemed by the shedding of blood (The Revolutionary War), and as a last resort, it may have to be again.
