There are many practices that are not good for people to be involved in. I will name some of them and touch on them lightly.
EXORCISM: This is an imitation of the true order which devils are cast out of people by false ministers who do not have actual Priesthood Power and Authority.
This was more common anciently but rarely done today because more people do not believe in miracles or in the existence of devils.
In the scriptures, some of the Jews saw Paul cast out devils and tried to do it but the devils said they knew Paul but they did not know them. The priesthood authority was present in Paul but not recognized in them.
See Acts 19: 11-16.
SPIRITUALISM: Those religionist who try to have communion with (as they suppose) departed spirits are called spiritualists.
This communion, if it happens, is shown by physical happenings like spirit-rapping, and trances, are shown forth by mediums. Some mediums make contact with spirits in seances. Most of the time, if they do contact spirits, they are the demons and devils that were cast out of Heaven for rebellion in the war in Heaven.
It is estimated by some that there were 150 billion spirits in Heaven and one third rebelled and were cast down. That is estimated to be 50 billion evil spirits.
There are 7 to 8 billion people on the earth at one time, so that would give 6 or so evil spirits per person tempting us.
Of course, many will do evil by themselves, so why waste evil spirits on those, so some people could have a lot more than 6 assigned to tempt them.
2 Nephi 18: 19-20
19 And when they shall say unto you: Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep and mutter—should not a people seek unto their God for the living to hear from the dead?
20 To the law and to the testimony; and if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
OUIJA BOARDS: Many people think using an Ouija board is fun but in reality, it is very dangerous. Wise people never seek revelation or guidance with Satan.
Ouija boards are devices used by spiritualist mediums in receiving messages or guidance, thinking it is from a departed person, but is actually from the devil and his demons.
In the hands of someone who have actual contact with evil and unseen forces, the use of the Ouija board is wicked and a devilish thing and should not be tampered with by anyone.
WITCHCRAFT: This sect is supported by Satan and is one of the most evil and wicked sects. This is a craft which actually interacts with evil spirits. They have engaged in this craft and practice black magic and have entered into a compact with Satan. The modern term of Witch today has been limited in application to women.
There is no such thing as witches who are old hags or rides on a broomstick in October Skies.
In the America’s about 34 A.D., the Lord said:
3 Nephi 21: 16
16 And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thy land, and thou shalt have no more soothsayers.
In the Old Testament the offence was excommunication then death by stoning.
Leviticus 20: 6, 27
6 And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.
27 A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them.
This was done in the Middle Ages and in early American history.
This was an apostate and unwarranted practice. It is very possible that many who received this treatment were NOT actually communicating with evil spirits.
This is what happens when true religion is not present. We are fortunate that the True Church is here now on earth.
CONJURE MAN or WOMAN: These are in some localities such as the southern United States and in the West Indies.
They practice magic or black magic and try to summon evil spirits by invocation or incantations.
EVIL SPIRITS: Many people don’t believe in evil spirits, the devil or Satan and this is what Satan hopes for.
I will explain.
WE ALL LIVED IN HEAVEN BEFORE COMING HERE.
People who believe in God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ should automatically believe in Satan and his angels.
Why? I will tell you.
Before this earth was made, we ALL existed as sons and daughters of God the Father, who we refer to as Heavenly Father. We all knew His First Born Son, Jehovah.
He was our Elder Brother who came to earth over 2000 years ago and is now known as Jesus Christ.
He came here to get His Body and to perform the Atonement so we can ALL make it back and become Immortal.
Every person, good or evil, living or who has ever lived on the earth will become Immortal.
But, it is important to realize that there is not just one Heaven.
Paul said he was caught up into the third Heaven; this is the Celestial Kingdom he was talking about.
So,it falls to reason that there must be a first and a second Heaven.
We will all go where we all merit.
Details of the Kingdoms were revealed in modern revelation from the Lord about the Last Days in:
Doctrine and Covenants 76. Read this.
These are all Kingdoms of Glory, but there is also Outer darkness, where the Devil and his angels will reside, along with those who came here to earth and chose Evil. They will be immortal too, but what counts is WHERE you will live for eternity as an immortal.
Do not think that those who have lived a good life or had repented of their sins and was cleansed by the Atonement of Jesus Christ will live in the same place as those who had chosen Evil here. I am glad that I will not have to make those decisions, but Jesus Christ will.
Jesus Christ or Jehovah of the Old Testament was Heavenly Father’s First Born Son.
Another of His sons were born and was named Lucifer, and he was a “Son of the Morning”. He was in high standing among His sons and daughters and had much influence with them. Many or One Third listened to Him.
REBELLION IN HEAVEN.
He rebelled against the Father’s Plan of Salvation, which was to create an earth and have His children go down to it, receive a physical body and still retain the Free Agency they had in Heaven.
They were to come to earth without memory of their former life and be tested in making choices.
That is the position ALL of us are in now.
The war in Heaven happened and Lucifer and the third of Heaven who followed him were cast out, down to the earth.
This third were our brothers and sisters.
Satan and his angels had LOST that part of the war, but it now continues here on the earth.
We, who have been born here on earth and received physical bodies, had chosen the right side there. Let us not fail this FINAL TEST and choose wrong here.
There are no retakes of this test.
Lucifer’s name was changed to Satan otherwise known as the Devil. He is now being used with his fallen angels to tempt us and make us choose between good and evil.
Do not be deceived by the appearance of Satan. He does NOT have horns. He was our brother and looks like one of us. The same is for his followers. All are brothers and sisters.
They chose wrong in the War in Heaven and have been DENIED a body of Flesh and Bone like we have.
He has many; many ways to trick us and tempt us but HE DOES NOT have the power over us to make us choose evil.
His temptations can be used to a certain point, and then our choice comes into play.
If we choose evil, WE chose it.
All through this life we will have this choice in ALL THINGS. The excuse “The Devil made me do it,” will not work at Judgment Day.
EVIL SPIRITS CONTROL IN THE WORLD.
Evil spirits control much of the so called religious worship in the world. Great creeds conform to their whispered promptings and have formulated much of the philosophies and scientific theories of the world.
Many leaders of nations have led their people into wars and every sort of evil throughout history. Satan has been the master of all this.
Revelation given through Joseph Smith the Prophet, 8 March 1831.
Doctrine and Covenants 46: 7
7 But ye are commanded in all things to ask of God, who giveth liberally; and that which the Spirit testifies unto you even so I would that ye should do in all holiness of heart, walking uprightly before me, considering the end of your salvation, doing all things with prayer and thanksgiving, that ye may not be seduced by evil spirits, or doctrines of devils, or the commandments of men; for some are of men, and others of devils.
In these Last Days you will see many evil things that will appear to many as miracles.
Do not be deceived.
The way to test the appearance of an Angel or the Devil, go to this revelation given to us by the Prophet:
DOCTRINE and COVENANTS 129.
Rely on prayer and the promptings of the Still Small Voice.
It may be the only voice you can trust in critical times.

THE TEN COMMANDMENTS TODAY - PART 10
TENTH COMMANDMENT: Thou shalt not covet.
This is the last commandment and if you covet, you are open to breaking any one of the other nine commandments.
All of the commandments work together and complement each other and go side by side with the scriptures, and all of them come from God.
When we ignore the Ten Commandments or the Scriptures we are open to Satan’s influences because he seeks to destroy the Plan of Salvation and he is determined to gain control of the sons and daughters of God and bring each under his power. Do not take them lightly.
When it says “Thou shalt not covet” does not mean that we should not try to improve our situation and have a righteous desire for obtaining a better life.
We are here to enjoy life and family and to make life better for them also.
We may see our neighbor have some better things in life but it does not mean we cannot have an honest ambition to have some of those things and not to covet the things he has.
The Lord said the earth is full and has enough for all.
If we want those things, it is good for us acquire them by honest effort and lawful means.
When men set their hearts too much on obtaining the things of the world and his ambition gets to the point that to obtain them he places his allegiance to the Lord and the principles of the Gospel second in his life or discards them altogether, he has gone astray.
When the material things of the world become that important to that person where it is placed in the place of God, those things are being worshiped and that is idolatry in the eyes of God.
In modern revelation the Lord said this about Idol worship:
Doctrine and Covenants 1: 16
16 They seek not the Lord to establish his righteousness, but every man walketh in his own way, and after the image of his own god, whose image is in the likeness of the world, and whose substance is that of an idol, which waxeth old and shall perish in Babylon, even Babylon the great, which shall fall.
In the Old Testament, Samuel told King Saul that sin was also idolatry and the Lord has rejected Saul in being king because he had rejected Him:
1 Samuel 15: 23
23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
IN SUMMARY:
The Ten Commandments were in operation before we left the spirit world. The prophets have taught that civilizations needed to use these laws as a foundation to build on.
Peace and happiness would come from obeying the Lord. These laws would help each individual to develop and live their lives in a peaceful and fulfilling way.
The first prophet of this, the Dispensation of the Fullness of Times and the Restoration of the Gospel, the Prophet Joseph Smith stated:
“Happiness is the object and design of our existence; and will be the end thereof, if we pursue the path that leads to it; and this path is virtue, uprightness, faithfulness, holiness, and keeping all the commandments of God. But we cannot keep all the commandments without first knowing them, and we cannot expect to know all, or more than we now know unless we comply with or keep those we have already received. That which is wrong under one circumstance, may be, and often is, right under another.” (Teachings, pp. 255–56.)
This sacred law has been reiterated though out the scriptures and the modern revelations we have received from the prophets the Lord has placed back on the earth in our day, to guide us to peace and happiness.
The Lord is not silent in our affairs today. Have Faith and Trust in Him.

AGENCY or FREEDOM OF CHOICE
What is Agency?
Agency is the ability and freedom to choose good or evil.
This is an eternal principle. It has always existed throughout eternity with Heavenly Father and His children.
We are the sons and daughters of God the Father and have had our Free Agency to choose since we lived in the pre-existence or spirit world before coming here.
Jesus Christ and the Son of the Morning.
We had the choice in the spirit world to follow Jesus Christ, then known as Jehovah, and in Hebrew pronounced Yahweh, which refers to the God of Israel.
He was the first born Son of God the Father. (Since we are all sons and daughters of God, this makes Him our Elder Brother)
In the King James Version of the Bible, Jehovah has been translated as Lord. Today we know that Lord means Jesus Christ.
Another early born spirit son of God the Father was named the son of the Morning. He was later known as Lucifer or the Devil. (Unfortunately this also makes him our elder brother too.)
This title signifies son of light. This meant that he was important and had authority and power in the spirit world.
Modern Revelations speaks of him here:
Doctrine and Covenants 76: 25-27
25 And this we saw also, and bear record, that an angel of God who was in authority in the presence of God, who rebelled against the Only Begotten Son whom the Father loved and who was in the bosom of the Father, was thrust down from the presence of God and the Son,
26 And was called Perdition, for the heavens wept over him for he was Lucifer, a son of the morning.
27 And we beheld, and lo, he is fallen! Is fallen, even a son of the morning!
Among others, one place in the Bible also speaks of him here:
Isaiah 14: 12
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
Freedom of Choice or Agency.
We had our Freedom of Choice in the spirit world.
We knew Heavenly Father’s Plan of Salvation there because it was explained to us.
But there was rebellion and Lucifer and his followers were cast down to the earth and are now being used to tempt and test us here.
Moses 4: 1-4
1 And I, the Lord God, spake unto Moses, saying: That Satan, whom thou hast commanded in the name of mine Only Begotten, is the same which was from the beginning, and he came before me, saying—Behold, here am I, send me, I will be thy son, and I will redeem all mankind, that one soul shall not be lost, and surely I will do it; wherefore give me thine honor.
2 But, behold, my Beloved Son, which was my Beloved and Chosen from the beginning, said unto me—Father, thy will be done, and the glory be thine forever.
3 Wherefore, because that Satan rebelled against me, and sought to destroy the agency of man, which I, the Lord God, had given him, and also, that I should give unto him mine own power; by the power of mine Only Begotten, I caused that he should be cast down;
4 And he became Satan, yea, even the devil, the father of all lies, to deceive and to blind men, and to lead them captive at his will, even as many as would not hearken unto my voice.
While here on earth, it is essential that we learn to exercise our Free Agency and make choices throughout our life.
This is our final test.
Four principles must be in place for us to use our Agency.
One, laws ordained by God must be in effect to be obeyed or disobeyed.
Two, there must be opposition in all things so we can choose from, like good and evil, right and wrong.
Three, by those who enjoy this Agency, knowledge of good and evil and the difference between the opposites must be known. We inherit this from Adam and Eve partaking of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil in the Garden of Eden.
Four, the unrestricted power of choice must exist.
Between 588-570 B.C., the Prophet Lehi, explaining to his children before he died, that they are free to choose between life and death.
See 2 Nephi 2: 26-30
The Prophet Helaman tells us that because we are free to choose, whatever happens to us is because of ourselves and the choices we have made in this life.
See Helaman 14: 30-31
Once men are damned because of their choices, (Damned means that you cannot progress on in the eternities) no power of choice can alter their course and gain salvation.
If they go into Hell, they still have their free agency but will not be able to use it to gain their lives back again.
The purpose of this life is to test men and see if they will take the bodies that are given them, and by choosing to use their agency to be righteous by following the word of God, and will make them fit abodes for the Spirit of God.

INTELLIGENCE OR LIGHT AND TRUTH PART 1
Intelligence.
Intelligence is the knowledge of Light and Truth.
In the gospel sense, intelligence is more than just obtaining any type of knowledge, but knowledge that will bring you closer to God, our Heavenly Father.
Doctrine and Covenants 93: 36-37
36 The glory of God is intelligence, or, in other words, light and truth.
37 Light and truth forsake that evil one.
Intelligence is the proper and wise use of knowledge which leads us in the direction of righteousness and eventually to obtaining eternal life and
exaltation in the Kingdom of God or the Celestial Realm.
Satan’s Use of Knowledge.
Knowledge can be obtained and used in the works of evil. As it says in verse 37 above, light and truth, which is intelligence, forsake the evil one, who is Satan or the Devil.
Satan has great power and influence because of the knowledge he had obtained in the pre-existence spirit world where we all came from.
He knows each of us and our weaknesses and uses that knowledge against us here on earth.
He tricks many into believing he does not exist, and many are fooled.
Those who have the Intelligent knowledge of the gospel and the Lord, knows that he exists and is not fooled by him. He is working hard to make us his.
Satan does not even have the least degree of intelligence within him.
An intelligent person uses the knowledge he has and uses it to progress in the things of the spirit and obtain eternal truths. He glories in being righteous in all the things he does.
Satan does not ever do that. He seeks the misery of all of us and tries to disrupt the Father’s Plan of Salvation.
Intelligence is Important to all of us.
Here is what the Lord tells us about the principle of intelligence:
Doctrine and Covenants 130: 18-19
18 Whatever principle of intelligence we attain unto in this life, it will rise with us in the resurrection.
19 And if a person gains more knowledge and intelligence in this life through his diligence and obedience than another, he will have so much the advantage in the world to come.
Ignorance.
An ignorant person is one who is uninformed and lacking in knowledge.
The Prophet Joseph Smith gave and inspired statement:
Doctrine and Covenants 131: 6
6 It is impossible for a man to be saved in ignorance.
He was meaning that ignorance of Jesus Christ and the saving truths of His gospel.
Our salvation comes through the knowledge we obtain about God, our Father and His laws and not the learning of the world.
John 17: 3
3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
Latter Day Saints have the obligation to obtain the knowledge of the truth.
The Lord said through the Prophet Brigham Young:
Doctrine and Covenants 136: 32-33
32 Let him that is ignorant learn wisdom by humbling himself and calling upon the Lord his God, that his eyes may be opened that he may see, and his ears opened that he may hear;
33 For my Spirit is sent forth into the world to enlighten the humble and contrite, and to the condemnation of the ungodly.
Let us seek for the Intelligent Knowledge about the Lord and His gospel.

An intelligent person uses the knowledge he has and uses it to progress in the things of the spirit and obtain eternal truths. He glories in being righteous in all the things he does.
Satan does not ever do that. He seeks the misery of all of us and tries to disrupt the Father’s Plan of Salvation.
Intelligence is Important to all of us.
Here is what the Lord tells us about the principle of intelligence:
Doctrine and Covenants 130: 18-19
18 Whatever principle of intelligence we attain unto in this life, it will rise with us in the resurrection.
19 And if a person gains more knowledge and intelligence in this life through his diligence and obedience than another, he will have so much the advantage in the world to come.
Ignorance.
An ignorant person is one who is uninformed and lacking in knowledge.
The Prophet Joseph Smith gave and inspired statement:
Doctrine and Covenants 131: 6
6 It is impossible for a man to be saved in ignorance.
He was meaning that ignorance of Jesus Christ and the saving truths of His gospel.
Our salvation comes through the knowledge we obtain about God, our Father and His laws and not the learning of the world.
John 17: 3
3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
Latter Day Saints have the obligation to obtain the knowledge of the truth.
The Lord said through the Prophet Brigham Young:
Doctrine and Covenants 136: 32-33
32 Let him that is ignorant learn wisdom by humbling himself and calling upon the Lord his God, that his eyes may be opened that he may see, and his ears opened that he may hear;
33 For my Spirit is sent forth into the world to enlighten the humble and contrite, and to the condemnation of the ungodly.
Let us seek for the Intelligent Knowledge about the Lord and His gospel.
